Privacy Policy

When you send a message from the contact page, the form asks for:

• your name, email address and phone number;
• who you are: homeowner, HOA, roofing contractor, distributor or other;
• the product you are asking about;
• your message.

Along with what you type, the form records the page you sent it from and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) that were part of the link you used to reach the site, such as a tag showing you came from a social media post. We use these only to see how people find us, which is called lead source. On their own they do not identify you.

The form also has spam protection: a hidden field that people never see but automated bots tend to fill in, and automated spam filtering that screens submissions before they reach us. Both exist to keep junk out of our inbox, not to profile you.

Like any website, this one receives the technical information a web server sees when your browser asks for a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time of the request. Our hosting provider uses it to deliver pages, keep the site secure and fix problems. We do not use it to identify you or to build a profile of you.

We use what you send for one purpose: to answer you. That can mean calling or emailing you back about a product, a color or where to get our products, and, for roofing contractors and distributors, handling an order you place with us. If you are a homeowner asking about price, we will usually point you to your local roofing contractor, because the website states no prices and pricing comes through your roofer. The page and campaign details tell us which pages and links bring people to us.

Sending a question does not sign you up for a newsletter or a marketing list.

The form hands your submission to a transactional email service, which delivers it as an email to our inbox at calstonecoat@gmail.com. That service processes the message only to deliver it for us and may hold a copy under its own retention terms. Our inbox is a Google account, so once your message arrives it is stored by Google under Google's terms. At California Stone Coating, only the people who answer inquiries and handle orders read it.

This site does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or any tool that follows you to other websites. If we add an analytics tool later, we will name it on this page along with what it collects. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies.

The videos page shows videos hosted on YouTube, and the site links to our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages. When you play one of those videos or follow those links, that company may collect information and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not rent it, trade it, or pass it to lead brokers, marketers or other businesses for their own use. We share it only with the service providers that make the site and the form work (our hosting provider, the email delivery service, and Google, which hosts our inbox), and when the law requires it.

Form messages stay in our email for as long as they are useful for answering you, following up, and keeping ordinary business records, such as an order a contractor or distributor places with us. If you ask us to delete your message, we delete it, except for records the law requires us to keep.

California law gives California residents rights over the personal information that businesses hold about them. We honor these requests from anyone who asks:

• Right to know. Ask what personal information we hold about you, where it came from, what we use it for and who we have shared it with.
• Right to delete. Ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you, apart from records the law requires us to keep.
• Right to correct. Ask us to fix information about you that is wrong.
• No sale of your data. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing you need to opt out of. If that ever changes, this policy will say so first and explain how to opt out.

We will not treat you differently for making any of these requests.

To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm a detail or reply from the email address you used before we act. You can have someone else make a request for you if you give them written permission. We will let you know when your request has been handled.

This site is for homeowners, associations and the roofing trade. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If a child has sent us something, a parent or guardian can ask us to delete it and we will.

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date below before the change takes effect.
